Man dies in shooting in Sacramento

(FOX40.COM) — Sacramento police say a man died after a shooting in Sacramento Sunday night.

Police said the shooting occurred around 7 p.m. near the Oak Park area on 33rd Street.

Sacramento police officers said they received a call about the shooting and found a man with life-threatening gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital, where medical personnel later pronounced him dead.

The incident is currently under investigation and no information about the suspect has been released so far.

Police said the area where the shooting occurred was cordoned off and motorists who normally drive through the area should take an alternate route.
