Man arrested for drunk driving accident in CherryVale Mall parking lot | MyStateline

CHERRY VALLEY, Ill. (WTVO) – Cherry Valley Police have arrested 24-year-old Luis Gomez Lara for fleeing the scene of a drunken traffic accident in the CherryVale Mall parking lot.

According to police, Lara collided with another vehicle in the shopping center parking lot at around 2:39 p.m. on Sunday and then fled the scene of the accident on foot.

He was found by authorities and taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Police said he was subsequently charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, having a blood alcohol content of over 0.08%, remaining at the scene of an accident when a person was injured, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and failure to reduce speed.
