One person shot in Sunday incident in Seneca Falls Tops parking lot | News

SENECA FALLS – A person was reportedly shot in the face in the parking lot outside the Tops Friendly Markets store Sunday afternoon.

New York State Police, Seneca County Sheriff’s Office, Seneca Falls and Waterloo police arrived at the scene. The victim was reportedly flown to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse.

According to the Finger Lakes Daily News, one person was arrested and others were questioned.

By early Sunday evening, police had released few details.

Kathy Sautter, Director of Corporate Communications and Public Relations at Tops, issued the following statement regarding the incident:

“Earlier (Sunday), there was an incident involving a gunshot in front of the Tops in Waterloo, NY. One person was transported to the hospital for a gunshot wound. The suspect is in custody.

“We are cooperating with law enforcement in their investigation. The store has reopened after a temporary closure.”
