Local photographer arrested on sexual assault charges after client claims she “lost consciousness” during photo shoot, BCSO says

The photographer told investigators that the sexual encounter was consensual and the victim denied those allegations.

BEXAR COUNTY, Texas – A professional photographer was arrested after a client claimed she “lost consciousness” during a photo shoot with him.

The victim hired local photographer John Lill, 48, for boudoir photos and when she arrived at the photo shoot location, which was Lill’s apartment, he allegedly requested that no one be allowed to wait outside his apartment during the session.

During the photo shoot, the victim claimed she passed out shortly after Lill offered her wine. After she regained consciousness, the victim believed she had been attacked by Lill, according to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.

The victim reported the alleged crime to BCSO and on May 4, officers responded to Lill’s home in northern Bexar County.

While officers were gathering information about the victim, Lill allegedly left the residence in his vehicle before eventually returning and agreeing to speak with investigators.

Lill told investigators that the sexual encounter was consensual and the victim has denied those allegations.

Lill was arrested and taken to the Bexar County Jail and charged with second-degree felony sexual assault.

“The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office is now asking the community if anyone was a victim of John Steven Lill during a photo shoot to contact investigators at 210-335-6000 or email [email protected] send,” BCSO said.
