Baltimore shooting investigated after ShotSpotter alert alerts police

BALTIMORE, MD – Baltimore police are investigating a shooting that left a man in critical condition in the city’s West District.

The incident occurred on June 2 at approximately 5:02 p.m. Officers responded to gunshots and a simultaneous ShotSpotter alarm and arrived in the 900 block of Pennsylvania Avenue.

There they discovered a male victim with numerous gunshot wounds. Emergency workers immediately took the victim to a nearby hospital, where he is still in critical condition.

Western District and Homicide detectives are actively investigating the case. They encourage anyone with information to contact Homicide at 410-396-2100. Those who prefer to provide anonymous tips can contact Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7LOCKUP or submit a tip online through the Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland website.
