There are two shootings taking place at the Raleigh shooting range in one weekend. Here’s what we know

Last weekend, two people were shot in separate incidents at the OnPoint shooting range, police said.

Police said the latest incident, reported at 3:31 p.m. Sunday, was an accident and did not require a criminal investigation.

A man with a gunshot wound was taken to the hospital for treatment, Raleigh police said in a news release. The shooting range said on social media that he was an employee who “suffered a minor training injury.”

“Per our protocol, we have notified 911,” the company wrote, adding that they expect the employee to make a full recovery.

Another man was taken to hospital in serious condition with a gunshot wound on Friday afternoon, according to police, who declined to comment further on the incident on Sunday.

The company said on social media that it was “deeply saddened” by Friday’s shooting.

“Our deepest sympathies go out to the family of the person concerned and everyone affected by this unfortunate incident,” the statement continued. “We would like to reassure everyone that this was an isolated incident involving a single person. At no time were other customers or employees in danger.”

According to WRAL, there was one gunshot death at the range last summer, on July 5.

OnPoint is located in northeast Raleigh at 3501 Spring Forest Road.
