Cyclist killed after collision with car in downtown Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) – A 50-year-old man has died after a car collided with his bicycle in downtown Fresno.

According to police, the accident occurred Sunday afternoon at the corner of Stanislaus Avenue and Van Ness Avenue.

Investigators believe the man may have taken a dangerous turn before the accident. They added that the investigation is still at an early stage.

The cyclist was taken to hospital where he died.

The driver of the car involved in the accident remained on site and is cooperating with investigators.

The police do not believe that drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident.
