Lil Skies was arrested last month for his alleged involvement in a hit-and-run car crash in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania.

According to the Chambersburg Police Department website, Lil Skies was arrested on May 20 after being involved in a car accident. Police say the 25-year-old rapper, born Kimetrius Christopher Foose, allegedly sped away without exchanging information with the other person involved in the accident.

A Franklin County Jail record shows that Lil Skies was released, but details about his bail conditions at the time of his release from the facility were not disclosed.

Who is Lil Skies?

Lil Skies is a talented rapper who rose to stardom during the Soundcloud era. He gained his musical experience through his father, Michael Burton Jr., who was a rapper formerly known as Dark Skies before changing his name to BurntMan. Of course, Lil Skies’ stage name is an homage to his father’s former rap pseudonym.

In 2017, Skies garnered major streams with a number of songs, including “Rude” and “Signs of Jealousy.” Atlantic Records took notice of the Pennsylvania rhymer’s streaming statistics and partnered with him through Skies’ label All We Got. In 2018, his major-label mixtape The life of a dark rosewhich debuted at number 23 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Lil Skies released his second project, Shelbyin 2019 and followed with his third studio release, Carefreein 2021.

Skies’ last album was Out Ur Body Musicwhich he brought over in March.

Lil Skies currently lives in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, and shares parenting of his five-year-old son with longtime girlfriend Jacey Fugate.
