El Dorado YMCA evacuated due to bomb threat, suspect arrested

EL DORADO, Kansas (KWCH) – A 56-year-old El Dorado man was arrested Saturday for making a bomb threat outside the local YMCA.

El Dorado police said officers were dispatched to investigate a bomb threat at the El Dorado YMCA on Saturday.

Shortly thereafter, the EDPD, El Dorado Fire Department and Butler County Sheriff’s Department evacuated and searched the building. No explosives were found, according to EDPD.

An investigation ensued and authorities concluded that 56-year-old Ramon Jay Pratt reported the threat against the YMCA.

He was arrested on suspicion of aggravated criminal threat and booked into the Butler County Detention Center.
