On which television channel is the Twins vs. Is Astros on air today? How and where to watch

Saturday didn’t go the way the Minnesota Twins would have liked, but a series sweep in Houston was a little out of reach in terms of expectations. However, getting a series win against the Astros is much more realistic and that’s the position Minnesota finds itself in on Sunday.

The Twins only get one series against the Astros this year, and they can finish it with a bang on Sunday and not only win the season series, but also earn their third straight series victory. That’s the kind of momentum the team will need heading into next week, which includes a trip to the Bronx and a battle against the New York Yankees.

Based on how things went the first time, the Twins need to gain as much momentum as possible. That series sweep at the hands of the Yankees sparked a losing streak that Minnesota needed a week to snap out of, and the exclamation point would be a victory Sunday at Houston.

It will be Simeon Woods Richardson (2-0, 2.70 ERA) on the mound for the series finale on Sunday, and he will have another opportunity to lose his spot in the starting rotation. This already appears to be something he has firmly done, as he has arguably been Minnesota’s best pitcher alongside Joe Ryan over the past month and his development has been glorious to watch.

Most fans know his story by now and how Woods Richardson struggled over the past two years to prove he had a place in the team’s future. He’s come a long way to prove that he does indeed belong, and a solid outing against the Astros — even when they’re in a rut — is going to be a tremendous confidence booster.

For Houston, Hunter Brown (1-5, 6.39 ERA) will try to get in the way, but this will be a much more favorable game for the Twins than Saturday was. While Framber Valdez was battered in the ALDS last October, he did a solid job shutting down the Twins yesterday to even the season series.

Brown has been roughed up all season, however, and the Twins offense has a perfect chance to put together a strong performance before a big series in New York next week.

Here’s what the Twins will do to try to earn a series win in Houston on Sunday afternoon:

  1. Trevor Larnach, LF
  2. Ryan Jeffers, C.
  3. Jose Miranda, 3B
  4. Max Kepler, R.F.
  5. Byron Buxton, CF
  6. Willi Castro, S.S.
  7. Alex Kirilloff, DH
  8. Carlos Santana, 1B
  9. Édouard Julien, 2B

First pitch is scheduled for 12:05 p.m. CT in Houston, which is one of the earliest starts the Twins have had all year. If they want to try and maintain their momentum next week, they’ll have to fight the narrative that the team can’t play well in early games – something that’s fading but can be put aside in a big way. way Sunday.

Today’s game will be free for almost everyone, even if it isn’t broadcast on national television. It is part of Roku’s Sunday Leadoff games package streaming exclusively on the Roku app.

There are also other streaming options if you can’t use Roku or don’t have access to Bally Sports North as part of your cable package:
