Mass shooting in Akron leaves one dead and 24 injured (live updates)

One man is dead and 24 others were injured after a mass shooting early Sunday at the intersection of Kelly and 8th Avenue in East Akron. WKYC reports the shooting occurred during a street festival. Akron police are investigating the shooting.

Akron Mayor Shammas Malik and new police chief Brian Harding issued a statement Sunday, saying the investigation is still in its early stages and more information will be released as it becomes available.
