Investigation into firearm possession leads to multiple charges in Owensboro

HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) – Two people have been charged in connection with a firearms investigation in Owensboro.

The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office stated that on June 1 at approximately 2:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Irene Avenue for a report of a person pointing a loaded firearm at two juveniles. The suspect was identified as Joshua Vick.


Officers say the two juveniles picked up Vick with the intention of taking him with them before he became aggressive and pointed the gun at them. He allegedly fled the area before officers arrived.

On June 2, at approximately 5:30 a.m., officers received information that Vick was in the 6800 block of Thoma Drive. Officers said Vick was there with two other people. He was taken into custody. Officers searched the area with the permission of a search warrant and reportedly found the firearm used in the previous day’s incident, as well as suspected meth and marijuana.

Officers also searched a room belonging to Chelsey Hastie and allegedly found meth and drug paraphernalia there as well. Officers also said a large amount of synthetic drugs was found, as well as numerous baggies and cash.

Vick faces multiple charges, including possession and concealed carrying of a weapon. Hastie is accused of possession and trafficking of synthetic drugs.
