Woman raped by three men she knew in Uttar Pradesh’s Bijnor

The incident took place on Friday when the accused took the woman in their car and raped her near a well site.

Crimes against women: Police have arrested three men for allegedly gang raping a woman in Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh, police said on Sunday.

The accused were identified as Shanky, Robin and Ankit, police sources said.

The incident took place on Friday when the accused took the 24-year-old woman in their car and raped her near a well site, said Deputy Commissioner of Police (City) Sanjeev Vajpayee.

The victim stated in his complaint to the police that he knew the accused, said Vajpayee.

Based on the victim’s complaint, an FIR under Section 376 D (gang rape) of the Indian Penal Code was registered on Saturday, Deputy Superintendent of Police (City) Sanjeev Vajpayee said.

The accused have been arrested and further investigations are ongoing, he added.
