Two people were killed and seven others injured in a shooting at a bar in a Pittsburgh suburb

PENN HILLS, Pennsylvania – Two people were killed and seven others injured in a shooting at a bar in a Pittsburgh suburb, police said Sunday.

The Allegheny County Police Department’s Homicide Unit said it responded to a request for assistance from the Penn Hills Police Department following a shooting at Ballers Hookah Lounge and Cigar Bar in Penn Hills in the early morning hours.

At around 3 a.m. Sunday, emergency responders discovered the bodies of an adult male and female inside the bar. Seven other victims were found. Some were transported from the scene and additional victims were taken to area hospitals, Allegheny County police said in a statement on social media.

One of the victims is in critical condition. The other victims all suffered injuries that were not life-threatening, the statement said.

According to preliminary information, “an altercation took place in the bar during which several people opened fire,” the district police said.

The statement did not specify whether any suspects were in custody.
