Police investigate death of teenager at Jacksonville swimming pool

JACKSONVILLE, NC (WITN) – Police say they are investigating the death of a 15-year-old at a Jacksonville swimming pool on Saturday.

According to Jacksonville Police, the Jacksonville Fire Department responded to the Holiday City Community Homes on Corbin Street around 3:50 p.m. where an unresponsive juvenile arrived.

They say that when rescuers arrived, they found a 15-year-old girl had been rescued from a pool where bystanders were performing CPR.

Rescue workers took life-saving measures, but without success.

The victim’s death was confirmed at the scene of the accident.

According to police, the coroner’s office is assisting with the investigation.
