2 dead, 7 injured in mass shooting at Pittsburgh bar – Republic World

Pittsburgh: Hours after a mass killing that left one person dead and several others injured in Akron, Ohio, another mass killing was reported at a bar in a Pittsburgh suburb in the US, leaving two people dead and seven others seriously injured. Pittsburgh police confirmed the incident, saying it occurred early Sunday morning in Penn Hills. Local police immediately rushed to the scene and the victims were taken to nearby hospitals.

According to the Allegheny County Police Department’s Homicide Unit, the Homicide Unit immediately responded to the Penn Hills Police Department’s call for assistance following the early morning shooting at Ballers Hookah Lounge and Cigar Bar in Penn Hills.

Police said emergency responders discovered the bodies of an adult male and female inside the bar at around 3 a.m. Sunday. Seven other victims were also found at the scene. They were transported from the scene to various hospitals for further treatment.

Allegheny County police said in a statement on social media that one of the victims was in critical condition, while the remaining victims suffered injuries that were not life-threatening.

During the preliminary investigation, police found that “an altercation had occurred in the bar and several people opened fire.”

Police have not confirmed the arrest of any of the accused involved in the incident.

Earlier, one person was shot and several others were injured when 27 people were shot at a birthday party in Akron, Ohio, in the early hours of Sunday morning. Local police are investigating the incident and are trying to track down the suspect, who is still at large, sources claimed.

According to local reports, several hospitals are on lockdown following the shooting incident. The injured are being treated in several local hospitals.
