3 people arrested after break-in at pharmacy, 1 at large

LAWRENCE, Michigan (WOOD) – Three men were arrested and one man is still at large after a break-in at a Lawrence pharmacy early Sunday morning.

At approximately 3:30 a.m., Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office officers were dispatched to True Leaf Dispensary, 265 Crandall Pkwy, after the owner saw several people inside the building on the business’s security cameras.


When officers arrived, they saw people carrying bags of marijuana and other products to their vehicle. When they saw officers, they ran back inside. Three people were able to escape through a back door and run into the woods.

The sheriff’s office said one person was arrested as he attempted to run from the woods and get into his getaway car. Another man was arrested inside the store. A third man was arrested after he was found running north on CR 684. He was previously seen on I-94 near CR 681 before fleeing into the woods when he saw officers. All three men were between the ages of 18 and 23 and live in the Battle Creek area.

The three men are being held in the Van Buren County Jail and are facing charges of burglary, violent entry, theft from a building, possession of burglary tools, and resisting and obstructing police.

A fourth man was not found.
