Suffolk man pronounced dead in Saturday shooting

According to police, 62-year-old Gary Lee Boykins was pronounced dead after he was rushed to the Suffolk Fire and Rescue station with a gunshot wound.

According to a Suffolk Police press release, officers were dispatched to Suffolk Fire Station 3 after a citizen brought a Boykins man to the scene with a gunshot wound.

Boykins was being treated by Suffolk Fire/EMS personnel when officers arrived and pronounced him dead.

According to the press release, a preliminary investigation revealed that the incident occurred at a residence in the 800 block of Old Dill Road.

There is currently no information about the suspect. The investigation is ongoing and further details have not yet been released.
