One-year-old child suffered severe burns; mother arrested

Second- and third-degree burns on a 1-year-old child led to the arrest of the mother, the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office said. Sheriff’s investigators arrived at the East Georgia Regional Medical Center emergency room on Sunday after a report of an injured child. Upon arrival, investigators photographed the burns on the infant’s buttocks and initiated criminal proceedings, Sheriff Lynn Anderson said in a news release issued Thursday evening.
