Former ‘General Hospital’ actor Johnny Wactor shot dead in downtown Los Angeles shooting | Ap Obits

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Former “General Hospital” actor Johnny Wactor was shot and killed in Los Angeles when he interrupted thieves trying to steal the catalytic converter from his car, his family said.

According to Los Angeles police, the shooting occurred around 3 a.m. on May 25 when the victim approached three men in downtown LA.

His mother, Scarlett Wactor, told ABC 7 that her 37-year-old son had left work at a rooftop bar with a co-worker when he saw someone at his car and thought it was being towed. A masked suspect opened fire, his mother said.

Three suspects fled the scene in a car, police said. Wactor was taken to hospital, where he died.

As of May 26, there were no arrests.

Wactor’s agent David Shaul said the actor was “a true moral role model for all who knew him.”

“Through the ups and downs of a demanding profession, he always kept his head up and wanted to do his best,” Shaul said in a statement Sunday. “Our time with Johnny was a privilege we would wish on anyone. He would literally give you the shirt off his back. After over a decade together, he will forever leave a hole in our hearts.”

Wactor portrayed Brando Corbin on the ABC soap opera from 2020 to 2022. He has also appeared in numerous films and television series, including “Station 19,” “NCIS,” “Westworld” and the video game “Call of Duty: Vanguard.”
