Two dead in road accident in Gazipur

GAZIPUR, June 2, 2024 (BSS) – Two persons were killed and another
injured when a van lost control of the steering and collided head-on
with a loaded truck in the Jaina Bazaar area on the Mawna Highway of Sripur
Upazila in the district this morning.

The dead are pickup driver Chanchal Roy, 30, and Ripon, 35.

According to police, a van with three passengers was transporting fish
Returning to Bhaluka from Mohammadpur in the capital and his driver lost
Control of the steering wheel when the pickup arrived in Jainabazar
and crashed into a truck. Its driver, Chancal Roy, died at the scene of the accident.

Injured were rescued and taken to the Upazila Health Complex, where the service
The doctor pronounced Ripon dead.

The police have recovered the bodies.
