WWE’s Dominik Mysterio on constantly hitting Finn Balor and “real accidents”

WWE’s Dominik Mysterio reveals what really led to all the clashes with Finn Balor

Since King & Queen of the Ring, all eyes have been on Dominik Mysterio thanks to his unexpected kiss with Liv Morgan, but honestly, Mysterio has been a talking point long before that. Whether it was his ongoing relationship with mommy Rhea Ripley or his heated rivalry with his father Rey, Dominik always gets a reaction. That was also the case when fans noticed a pattern regarding his Judgment Day teammate Finn Balor, as at several different celebrations with the group, Mysterio could be seen punching Balor, and Balor was always surprised. This led some to wonder if this was part of a storyline or just an oversight, and ComicBook finally had the chance to ask Mysterio what really happened.

“Dude, these are all legit accidents, I swear. And I think that’s what makes it so funny. If you noticed, I think it was last week or two weeks ago when we were out in the ring and we were all hugging. After we all hugged, I looked at him and I was like, ‘Are you OK?’ He said, ‘Yeah, I’m OK,'” Mysterio said.

Mysterio wouldn’t have even known it was happening if it hadn’t been picked up on social media too, because Balor never told him. “Because I really don’t want to hit him, man. It just happens. It’s an accident. And I think the best part is he doesn’t tell me I’m doing it. He’s almost like a father. He just lets it happen because he knows I’m not doing it on purpose, or he’s like, I don’t know what he’s thinking. I just think he likes me too much not to say anything, or he’s too nice about it. But yeah, he never said anything to me until the last time when he said, hey, do we have a problem here? These are all accidents, I swear,” Mysterio said.

The Judgment Day has been through a lot in the last year including internal conflicts, lost championships, new championships, new members and unexpected injuries to name a few. For Mysterio, it was an unforgettable experience and he considers himself lucky to have been part of this group on this journey.

“Man, it’s been a hell of a ride. And it makes me emotional to talk about it because they really mean so much to me. All of them. Rhea, Damien, Finn, especially JD, who came on a little late, but he’s been with us for the last couple months. But it’s all been so special,” Mysterio said. “I don’t know who made it. Especially the diversity of the group, how the group started and where we are now. And it’s just that nobody does it like Judgment Day. And the amount of segments that we appear in on TV, the amount of things that we do, it’s pretty surreal, man. And I’m very blessed to have been a part of it and just to continue this journey with them. It’s been a wild ride, man, and I’m very grateful.”
