Porsche accident in Pune: Massive police deployment to solve complex conspiracy | What we know so far | Crime news

The police have formed three teams of 8 to 10 personnel each to investigate the three registered cases, two teams to document evidence, one team to monitor CCTV footage, three teams for technical analysis and an equal number of teams for field operations.

The accident occurred during the night from last Saturday to Sunday.

New Delhi: Following the fatal Porsche accident involving a minor driver, the Pune police have launched a multi-faceted investigation. More than a hundred officers are deployed to solve the complex case. According to the police, more than a dozen teams comprising 100 officers have been assigned to investigate the various aspects of the case.

Several arrests and charges

The investigation led to the arrest of the boy’s father, grandfather and mother, as well as two doctors and an employee of Sassoon General Hospital. The charges include negligent homicide, intentional homicide, serving alcohol to minors, driving without a license and conspiracy to tamper with evidence.

Blood sample exchange and uncooperative suspects

The investigation has revealed an ominous twist: there is evidence that the minor’s blood sample was replaced with that of his mother. This revelation raises serious questions about the involvement of medical personnel and the extent of the conspiracy to evade police intervention.

Specialized investigation teams

To ensure a thorough investigation, the police have formed specialised teams:

Three teams to investigate the registered cases
Two teams for documentation
A team to monitor video surveillance footage
Three teams for technical analysis
Three teams for field operations
A team to accompany the accused
A team for communication

“To ensure that the investigation is carried out professionally and effectively, we have constituted several teams. Around 100 police personnel, including officers, are handling various aspects of the case,” said Shailesh Balkawade, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime). The police have constituted three teams of 8-10 personnel each to investigate the three registered cases, two teams for documentation to substantiate the case, one team for monitoring CCTV footage, three teams for technical analysis and an equal number for field operations. One team each is tasked with escorting the accused and communication.

“This multi-faceted approach aims to cover all aspects of the investigation and ensure thorough and careful handling of the case,” Balkawade said.

Questioning the minor

Police also interrogated the minor at the observation center, but sources said he and his family did not cooperate during the interrogation.

What fees apply?

The three cases include FIRs relating to the accident and a second case against the bar that served alcohol to the youth. Police have arrested the boy’s father, a construction worker, for letting him drive the car without a valid license. A third case involves wrongful confinement and coercing the family driver to take the blame for the accident. Police have invoked the Indian Penal Code, the Juvenile Justice Act, the Motor Vehicles Act and the Prevention of Corruption Act.
