Police: Man and woman arrested for attacking police officers | Ahmedabad News

Ahmedabad: A man and a woman were arrested on Friday for assaulting policemen on duty. Jaydip Patel and Aruna Parel were brought to Chandkheda police station for questioning in a case of non-consensual miscarriage and criminal intimidation. Jaydip pushed a police inspector and abused him when the policemen checked his phone to get the number of the main accused Yogesh Patel. The FIR, filed by constable Vashram Raga of Chandkheda police, also states that Jaydip tried to snatch the phone from him and that Aruna also assaulted policemen present and tore their clothes. Following the alleged attack, a case was registered against the two under IPC Section 332 (intentionally causing hurt to deter a public servant from performing his duties), Section 86 (obstructing a public servant in performing his duties) and Section 189 (threatening to cause bodily harm to a public servant) and other sections. tnn
