1 dead, 1 hospitalized after head-on crash in Union

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, an initial investigation shows Karon S. Watson, 68, of Ludlow Falls, was driving a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox south on State Route 48 near Concord Farm Road at approximately 1:56 p.m.

According to OSHP, the SUV veered left of the center line and struck a northbound 2019 Honda CR-V driven by Johnson head-on.

Johnson was taken to Miami Valley Hospital on North Campus and pronounced dead.

Watson was taken to Miami Valley Hospital on the main campus with non-life-threatening injuries.

The highway patrol was joined at the scene by the Town of Union Police Department, the Town of Union Fire Department/EMS, the Town of Englewood Fire Department/EMS and Parkers Towing.

This crash is still under investigation.
