Suspected murder after woman found dead in Huntington Beach house

The discovery of a woman’s body in a Huntington Beach home has sparked a murder investigation, Huntington Beach police said Saturday.

According to police, officers arrived at the home on 1100th Street in England around 2:30 p.m. Friday for a report of a suspicious death. When they arrived, they entered the home and found the woman who had previously died.

Detectives from the Major Crimes Division soon responded and began their investigation.

In a press release, the department said evidence found at the scene indicated the death was a homicide and appears to be an isolated incident. The statement also noted that the suspect has not yet been identified, but police believe there is no ongoing danger to the public.

The identity of the woman and further details of the alleged murder have not been released by police; the family has yet to be notified.
