Multi-vehicle crash leaves one dead and five injured in Philadelphia – NBC10 Philadelphia

One person was killed and several others injured in a high-speed hit-and-run accident in Philadelphia’s Holmesburg neighborhood on Friday evening.

According to police, the accident occurred around 9:11 p.m. at the corner of 8400 State Road and Ashburner Street.

According to police, a preliminary investigation revealed that a silver Nissan SUV was traveling north on State Road and turned left onto Ashburner Street when it collided with a black 2012 Honda traveling south at a high rate of speed.

The black Honda then collided with another vehicle – a black Ford Escape – and a power pole, causing the pole to pierce the black Honda, police said.

According to police, the driver of the Nissan SUV then fled the scene of the accident.

According to police, there were three people in the black Honda. One passenger was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene of the accident at around 9:30 p.m. and the other two people were taken to hospital by paramedics in extremely critical condition.

The three occupants of the Ford Escape were taken to hospital and their condition is stable, police said.

According to the police, the accident investigation department is conducting an investigation.
