Scattered showers will move east and leave the area by the afternoon. After clouds and rain leave the region, skies will be partly cloudy and temperatures will rise to 25 to 30 degrees. At night, lows will cool to 10 to 15 degrees and skies will be partly cloudy. On Sunday, skies will be partly cloudy and highs will reach 27 to 30 degrees. Another round of scattered showers and thunderstorms is possible Sunday night and a thunderstorm or two could bring damaging winds.

Your first warning: More showers and storms on the way

Our air mass will feel different as we head into the next work and school week, as the dew point will rise and things will get a little muggy. We’ve been lucky enough to avoid that feeling for most of the season, so it will be a little different than normal this season. Temperatures will also be in the 27-30s during this period, making for a more summery feel overall.

More showers and thunderstorms are possible on Monday, although Monday night could be another period where rain is a little less likely. Tuesday into Tuesday night, however, is another period to expect a better chance of thunderstorms. This will be when the last push of a cold front sweeps through the state, finally ending the extended period of active weather.

With all of these rain and storm chances, many locations could see at least 0.50 inches of rain. Locally, higher amounts are possible, but that depends on the exact path of each storm. Still, some locations could easily see an inch or more of rain.

Weekend outlook
Weekend outlook(KCRG)

From the end of next week it will be quieter and cooler

Behind the cold front on Tuesday evening, conditions should improve fairly quickly. Behind this, drier and slightly cooler air will flow, causing temperatures to drop in general. At this point, we expect highs to drop back to 21 degrees Celsius and lows to be back to 10 degrees Celsius by Thursday and the start of the following weekend.
