Nine-year-old girl in hospital and another injured after dog attack in Tulloch Park

A nine-year-old girl was hospitalized after being attacked by a dog in a Perth park.

Police were called after a dog attacked two girls in Tulloch Park at around 5.40pm on Friday 31 May.

The nine-year-old girl was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee for treatment.

An eight-year-old girl was also injured in the attack but did not require medical treatment.

Police said a 63-year-old man would be charged with violating the dangerous handling of dogs.

The dog was put in a kennel.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “On Friday 31 May 2024, at around 5.40pm, we were called to a report that a dog had attacked two girls in the Tulloch Park area of ​​Perth.

“A nine-year-old girl was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee for treatment.

“An eight-year-old was injured but did not require medical treatment.

“The dog was put in a kennel.

“A 63-year-old man has been reported to the public prosecutor’s office for violating a dangerous dog.”
