Fargo police arrest man accused of throwing objects from downtown roof – InForum

FARGO, ND – Fargo police have arrested a man accused of throwing rocks at police from a rooftop early Friday morning.

Police responded to a report of a non-resident man in a building and were dispatched to the area of ​​20 7th Street South. Officers said they found 43-year-old Ezra DeJarlais climbing a fire escape to the roof of the building.

According to police, while the man was devising a plan to get onto the roof, he began throwing objects from the roof, including roof vents and rocks.

Officers remained in the building and requested assistance from the Fargo Regional Drone Team and the Fargo Fire Department. The drone team was able to use its spotlight and speaker system to locate the individual and report that he was under arrest. The drone pilot noticed that the individual had knives, including a machete, on his belt
Police later climbed the ladder of a fire truck and were able to arrest DeJarlais without incident.

DeJarlais, who did not give a permanent address, is charged with burglary, obstruction of justice and inhalation of a volatile chemical substance. He also has an outstanding arrest warrant.
