Police seek man in connection with death of probation officer in Maryland

State police issue a blue alert

The Montgomery County Police Department is currently actively searching for Emanuel Edward Sewell, 54, of Chevy Chase, in connection with the death of a Maryland parolee. Police say on May 31, officers were dispatched to the 2800 block of Terrace Drive to check on the welfare of the officer, who had not returned to work after visiting Sewell, a registered sex offender. Police say when they entered the residence, they found the officer dead. Sewell, who was not at the scene, is now wanted for premeditated murder. He is considered armed and dangerous. Police say Sewell may be driving a gray 2017 Hyundai Elantra with Maryland license plate 93661HT. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 301-279-8000 or Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-8477.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department is actively searching for Emanuel Edward Sewell, 54, of Chevy Chase, in connection with the death of a Maryland parole officer.

According to police, officers were dispatched to the 2800 block of Terrace Drive on May 31 to check on the welfare of the agent who had not returned to work after visiting Sewell, a registered sex offender. Police say when they entered the apartment, they found the agent dead.

Sewell, who was not at the crime scene, is now wanted for premeditated murder. He is considered armed and dangerous.

According to police, Sewell may be driving a gray 2017 Hyundai Elantra with Maryland license plate 93661HT.
