Woman dead, police officer injured after accident in Fort Lauderdale

FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida. – A woman died Saturday morning after a collision with a police officer in Fort Lauderdale.

According to Fort Lauderdale police, the woman was turning around when she ran into the police officer at the corner of Northwest Ninth Avenue and 11th Street around 1 p.m.

Fort Lauderdale Fire Department personnel took the woman and the officer to Broward Health Medical Center. The officer was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

A doctor later declared the woman dead.
