THE The Minister of Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has temporarily suspended the enforcement rights granted by the Federal Government to NAEBI Dynamic Concept Ltd as a consultant to collect helicopter landing fees at all aerodromes in the country.

This follows a meeting between the Minister and the management of the Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) to discuss the collection of fees for helipads, airstrips and other facilities.

According to a statement signed on Friday in Abuja by the ministry’s press secretary, Odutayo Oluseyi, the suspension took effect on May 30, 2024.

Industry representatives had expressed their reservations after Messer’s NAEBI Dynamic Concept Ltd was granted the sole right to collect the tax by the federal government.

However, the statement said Keyamo has set up a committee with members from the Ministry of Aerospace Development and its relevant agencies, the Airlines of Nigeria (AON), international oil companies (IOCs) and Messer’s NAEBI Dynamic Concept Ltd, which is tasked with studying the issues raised by the concerned stakeholders and submitting a report no later than the end of June 2024.

The Committee’s recommendation(s) would provide a way forward.
