Zoo Atlanta reopens Saturday, although some concessions are restricted – WSB-TV Channel 2

ATLANTA — Water main breaks in the Atlanta area Friday prompted the early closure of Zoo Atlanta, but the park will be open Saturday.

Even though a boil water advisory is still in effect in some parts of the city and repair work is underway, Zoo Atlanta said it will operate normally according to its operating hours Saturday .

However, even though the zoo will be open, certain concession items will be restricted.

“Fountain drinks and some other concessions will not be available today; canned and bottled items can be purchased from vending machines,” the zoo said in a morning statement.

Although fountain drinks are prohibited at the zoo, the park still operates the Splash Fountain.

“The Splash Fountain water play experience will operate as normal today. Splash Fountain has its own enclosed, chlorinated water system and is not affected by the boil water notice,” Zoo Atlanta said.
