Kurdish mountaineer violently arrested by IRGC intelligence forces

The intelligence service of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of the Islamic Republic of Iran forcibly detained Afsaneh Shahi in Bukan, West Azerbaijan (Urmia) province. Her whereabouts are unknown.

According to a report by the human rights organization Hengaw, Afsaneh Shahi, a 32-year-old mountaineer from Bukan, was arrested on May 30, 2024, in an armed raid by the Revolutionary Guard Intelligence Service at her private residence.

According to a trusted source, IRGC forces entered Afsaneh Shahi’s house without a warrant and used armed force against her family and guests.

This individual was transported to an unknown location following his arrest and at the time of publication of this message, no information was available regarding his physical condition, charges against him, or current status.
