Today rain showers and some strong storms

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A First weather warning day Some storms are in effect for this afternoon and evening that could be strong to severe, especially west of I-65.

Grab the umbrella! It’s going to be a wet day in the Midwest as showers and thunderstorms will be around throughout the day. While most of the rain won’t be heavy, there is a slight chance of rain for areas west of Nashville this afternoon and evening. Any thunderstorms could bring heavy downpours that could lead to localized flooding and some damaging wind gusts. The tornado threat is extremely low today, but still keep an eye on the weather if you plan on being outside today.

The rain will ensure that temperatures remain significantly lower than normal at just over 20 degrees. In some areas, temperatures will only reach just over 20 degrees today.

Showers will continue through Sunday morning before clearing up in the afternoon. Highs will be slightly warmer at around 30 degrees and lows around 18 degrees.

A few showers are expected again on Monday, but it will be similar to Sunday, with many dry periods during the day. It will also be a little warmer, with temperatures over 30 degrees.

The chance of rain increases for Tuesday and Wednesday. Expect scattered showers throughout the day and a few isolated thunderstorms as well. The rain will continue into Thursday morning before finally clearing out just in time for the weekend.
