Fairground employee convicted of sexually abusing a 14-year-old | Crime and Courts

CHIPPEWA COUNTY (WQOW) – The fairground worker accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl he met at the Northern Wisconsin State Fair was sentenced Friday.

Craig McPherson was charged with second-degree sexual abuse of a child and second-degree sexual abuse by use of force in 2022.

According to the prosecution, the attack occurred in the parking lot of a gas station. A video from the gas station confirmed the victim’s statement.

Earlier this month, McPherson pleaded guilty to enticement of a child and third-degree sexual assault.

On Friday he was sentenced to five years in prison, followed by four years of extended probation.
