A worker was flown by helicopter to Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah after sustaining an injury at the Hyundai Metaplant in Bryan County. According to Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America, Bryan County EMS responded to an injury that occurred at a subsidiary plant on the mega construction site on Friday. A contractor was taken to the hospital by helicopter. His condition was unknown Friday afternoon. The cause of the injury is under investigation. Construction work at the subsidiary plant has been paused. “The safety of everyone at HMGMA and on the construction site is our highest priority and HMGMA is firmly committed to complying with all applicable standards, rules and regulations,” the company said. A contractor was flown to hospital by helicopter. His condition was unknown Friday afternoon.

The cause of the injury is currently being investigated.

Construction work on the partner site has been interrupted.
