Porsche accident in Pune: Police arrest mother of accused teenager | News from Pune

NEW DELHI: Pune Police have arrested the teenager’s mother in the Porsche automobile Accident The case was quashed after it was confirmed that his blood samples had been replaced with those of his mother, city police chief Amitesh Kumar said on Saturday.
As the police informed a district court, the teenager’s blood samples were mixed up with those of a woman on Friday.
Meanwhile, on Friday the police had obtained permission from the Juvenile Justice Court (JJB) to record the statement of the 17-year-old driver of the Porsche Taycan.
“We will visit the observation post on Saturday to record the boy’s statement,” a crime branch official told TOI.
The teenager’s statement is recorded in the presence of the District Protection Officer (DPO) and a family member.

A court has sentenced the father and grandfather of the minor involved in the accident in Pune to 14 days’ custody after the end of their police custody.

In addition to the family members, police arrested Dr. Ajay Taware, former head of the Department of Forensic Medicine at Sassoon General Hospital, medical officer Dr. Shrihari Halnor and staff member Atul Ghatkamble on suspicion of tampering with the minor’s blood samples to conceal his alcohol consumption at the time of the accident.
Police investigations revealed that about a dozen phone calls took place between Vishal Agarwal and Dr. Ajay Taware during the sample collection.
Maharashtra Minister Hasan Mushrif said on Friday: “Police found that Dr Ajay Taware was on vacation in Pune on the night of the accident and received a call from someone. He accepted Rs 300,000 and called Dr Halnor to tamper with the blood samples.”
The police have filed an application for the arrest of Vishal Agarwal in connection with the alleged swapping of the blood sample.
The juvenile court has allowed the police to examine the minor involved in the Porsche accident in accordance with the Juvenile Justice Act, which stipulates that minors must be questioned in the presence of their parents.
Soon after the May 19 accident, the JJB had initially granted bail to the teenager, the son of real estate developer Vishal Agarwal, and directed him to write a 300-word essay on road safety. However, following a nationwide outcry, the police again approached the JJB, resulting in a revised order, whereby the minor was sent to an observation home till June 5.
In response to the bail granted to the youth by a single member of the Judicial Department, the Maharashtra government set up a committee to investigate the conduct of the state-appointed members of the Judicial Department and determine whether proper procedures were followed in issuing the orders in the Pune car accident case.
