Police announce increased presence against driving under the influence of alcohol

CHARLESTON, SC (WCBD) — Motorists should expect increased police presence downtown and in West Ashley this weekend.

Charleston police announced on social media that their traffic division will be targeting drunk and impaired drivers between 11 p.m. and 3 a.m. starting Friday.

The campaign is part of the 100 deadliest days of the summer and encourages drivers to drive safely and responsibly.
