27-year-old coal miner from Buchanan County dies in accident | WJHL

BUCHANAN COUNTY, Virginia (WJHL) – According to the Virginia Department of Energy, a 27-year-old coal miner was killed in a mining accident Friday afternoon.

Virginia Energy said the accident occurred at 4:20 p.m. in an active mining section at Buchanan Mine 1.

The accident is being investigated.
