Two injured in Russian missile attack on Odessa port infrastructure

Russian troops attacked port infrastructure in the southern city of Odessa on May 31, injuring two people, Governor Oleh Kiper reported.

At 19:30 local time, an explosion was reported in Odessa, almost immediately after an air raid siren was sounded in the region.

The governor said preliminary information indicated that Russia hit the port with a ballistic missile equipped with a cluster munitions warhead.

A 28-year-old woman and a 37-year-old man reportedly suffered shrapnel injuries and were hospitalized in moderate condition.

The Odessa Oblast and other southern regions of Ukraine are regular targets of Russian missile and drone attacks.

Russia fired ballistic missiles at Odessa on May 1, hitting a postal depot of Nova Poshta, Ukraine’s largest private postal operator.

14 people were injured in the attack and destroyed 15.5 tons of supplies worth nearly 3 million HR ($76,000).

Swiss volunteer injured in Russian attack on Vovchansk

The Swiss volunteer had come to Ukraine to help evacuate people and animals from areas of active hostilities. He was injured on May 30 during a humanitarian mission in embattled Vovchansk and received medical treatment, prosecutors said.
