Woman arrested in downtown Seattle for slashing man with knife

Seattle police responded to a 911 call saying a man had been slashed in the face by a woman armed with a knife Monday afternoon.

At approximately 11:10 a.m., officers responded to the 500 block of 3rd Avenue and located a 64-year-old man with a severe laceration to his left cheek.

Police determined that the victim was in his apartment when an adult woman entered without permission and attacked him. The suspect fled the area before police arrived.

The victim was treated at the scene by the Seattle Fire Department. He was transported to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition.

The 34-year-old suspect was located nearby. She was arrested for first-degree burglary. The officers confiscated the weapon as evidence. She was booked into the King County Jail.

Detectives from the General Investigations Unit are assigned to this case.
