Fatal traffic accident claims the lives of two fishermen in Konaseema

Kakinada: Two fishermen lost their lives in a tragic road accident in Konaseema district today. Lanke Suribabu, 49, and Vanamadi Saibabu, 62, residents of Gummileru village in Alamuru mandal, were reportedly on their way to Tungapadu village for fishing when their vehicle, a quad bike, collided head-on with a tractor carrying rice belonging to the Civil Supplies Corporation.

According to Sub-Inspector L. Srinu Naick of Alamuru police station, the accident occurred this morning. The force of the impact resulted in the instant death of the two fishermen. Three other fishermen, who were present in the vehicle, sustained injuries and were admitted to the government hospital for treatment.

The police have filed a report and are investigating the cause of the accident.
