This news comes as crews work to repair two large water main breaks that left customers without water across much of northwest Atlanta.

Officials said repairs during the break would begin at 5 p.m. to give them time to assemble their crews and give homeowners and businesses time to prepare for not having water for an indefinite period of time.

A spokesperson for the Atlanta Department of Watershed Management said Mark Winne, Channel 2 investigative reporter that the break was a 48-inch transmission line directly connected to the city’s water treatment plant.
