Dog attack: 6-week-old Ezra Mansoor dies after husky attacks sleeping newborn, Knoxville, Tennessee family says

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – A six-week-old baby died in Knoxville, Tennessee, on Thursday after the family’s dog attacked the newborn while it was sleeping in its crib.

With their child, Ezra, Chloe and Mark Mansoor became parents for the first time.

“Being his mother was the greatest honor and the best thing I’ve ever done,” Chloe said.

This is what they always wanted. They loved their son and cared for him every day. With two dogs in the house that had never been aggressive, they never thought they could be afraid for their child’s safety.

While Ezra was napping in his crib, the family’s husky, whom they had owned for eight years, attacked out of the blue.

“And just to point out that it could happen to any dog ​​at any time. For no reason at all, no matter what the history is,” said Chloe.

In the midst of this tragedy, this family hopes others will think more carefully about how to protect their children as they now reflect on every precious moment they had with their son.

“Really, don’t take anything for granted, even if it’s just a moment when you’re upset or frustrated. All those little moments are still so amazing,” Chloe said.

“Really pray for the whole family. Everyone loved him so much. I know everyone is grieving right now. We are grieving right now and it’s going to be a lifelong process to process this,” Chloe said.

The family dog ​​responsible for the attack was taken to a local animal shelter.
