Houston Rockets’ Jalen Green named trade target for Orlando Magic

The Houston Rockets will likely have teams interested in working with them this offseason, and their rivals might want a deal that would land them star guard Jalen Green.

Bleacher Report suggests that one team that might be interested in Green is Orlando Magic, a needy shooter.

“Green is just the right age and possesses just the right skill set to fill the gaps presented by Orlando while putting together an admittedly impressive 2023-2024 campaign. Of course, that’s why getting him will require a significant outlay on picks and valuable contracts – if Houston answers the phone,” writes Bleacher Report.

The last part of that last sentence is the kicker. Will the Rockets even answer the phone to green calls? Chances are the answer is no.

The Rockets will always be the subject of star trade rumors because they have a glut of first-round picks and can offer one of the best deals for any big-name player. However, the Rockets will likely give Green at least one more season to prove he should stay with the team long term.

The Rockets will likely negotiate an extension with Green this offseason given he is eligible, but he will still be the marquee player leaving Houston in any significant trade scenario. That being said, Houston still has a lot of confidence in the 22-year-old, and a trade involving him this summer is highly unlikely.
