CT man arrested for allegedly strangling woman on domestic violence charge

A Connecticut man was arrested Thursday on domestic violence charges for allegedly choking a woman and slamming her head into the ground.

Rueben J. Miller, 43, of South Windsor, faced charges of third-degree criminal damage, disturbing the peace, third-degree assault and second-degree strangulation, according to South Windsor police.

Police said the charges stem from a May 15 domestic violence incident in which Miller allegedly broke a woman’s cellphone and choked her, “blocking her airway…” He also slammed her head into the ground, causing her injuries, police said.

After his arrest, Miller was released on $5,000 bail and is scheduled to be arraigned in Manchester Superior Court on Friday.
