A man is dead after an officer-involved shooting at an Abilene grocery store

Abilene police shot and killed a man in the parking lot of a grocery store at North 10 and Willis Street around 2 p.m. today.

Police are still investigating this incident, but told KTXS that the man caused a scene in the store and demanded money from employees.

After the man left the store, police said, employees locked the door behind him so he couldn’t return.

APD said the man had a knife and did not comply with officers’ commands to produce the weapon.

The officers used a Taser on the man, but it had no effect on him. An officer then shot the man and ultimately killed him at the scene.
