Mobile game Command & Conquer: Legions receives characters, units and stories from the Red Alert universe

The mobile game Command & Conquer: Legions features characters, units and stories from the popular Red Alert universe.

Red Alert was released in 1996 as the second game in the legendary real-time strategy series Command & Conquer. It is a prequel to the original game from 1995 and is set in an alternate early history in which the Allied forces fight against the Soviet Union for control of mainland Europe.

Developer Westwood Studios created some memorable FMV cutscenes for Red Alert’s story, which involves Albert Einstein traveling back in time to meet a young Adolf Hitler and create a new timeline in which the Soviet Union becomes even more powerful under Stalin and an alternate World War II breaks out.

Legions is the first new Command & Conquer game since Rivals in 2018.

This new Command & Conquer game is a mobile-only title developed by Tencent subsidiary Level Infinite in collaboration with EA. Pre-registration is available on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store, with a worldwide release scheduled for late 2024.

Familiar characters from Red Alert that will appear in the game include Tanya, Boris, and Yuri. The Yuri’s Force faction appears in the story. Tanya is the name of an Allied commando in the Red Alert universe, played by actress Lynne Litteer.

Red Alert is the first season. Here is the official blurb:

The first season of Command & Conquer: Legions, Red Alert, is set in an alternate timeline where Soviet and Allied forces remain locked in a stalemate. Yuri’s unexpected return has upset the balance of power and sparked open war between the world’s major factions. Players lead their chosen faction, recruit legendary Red Alert heroes, build unstoppable armies, and wage a strategic campaign to thwart Yuri’s nefarious plans. Players can look forward to more stories from the legendary C&C universe in future seasons.

Legions is the first brand new Command & Conquer game since 2018’s mobile-only Rivals. The well-received 2020 Remastered Collection revived the first two Command & Conquer games for modern systems. EA has yet to announce a new mainline Command & Conquer game for PC.
